Buganda Premier Charles Peter Mayiga has launched and authorized a committee of eight members today at Bulange to implement the Kingdom’s football strategic plan.
The four year strategic plan was launched in 2017 by the Vice President of Uganda Edward Kiwanuka Sekandi at Serena Hotel, Kampala.
Samuel Mpiima will chair the committee and will be assisted by Hajji Jamil Ssewanyana.
Katikkiro said that the sports industry can succeed through proper planning and also encouraged discipline and devotion towards sports in general.
“Sports is now an industry that requires a plan to succeed. But this begins with conceiving the ides before making a particular plan.
“Then implement the plan, monitor and make a follow up on the designed plan.”
Evaluation of the strength and weakness of the plan and how to solve the weaknesses is also key.”
Mayiga also urged all players to always plan and save for their future
“Sports activities give us leisure and joy, they unite us and bring development. I therefore argue all players to always plan and save for the future.” Added the Katikkiro.
Mpiima thanked the Kingdom for entrusting him with a hardworking committee
“I thank the Kingdom for the responsibility and i can assure everyone that with the brilliant and hardworking committee we are ready to serve tirelessly.” I have faith that we shall prevail.” Stated Mpiima.
The committee has been tasked to develop football in the Kingdom and should make sure that every county has a sports complex.
