Kataka FC intensified their pursuit for top-flight football with a 3-0 drabing of Proline at the Mbale Municipal grounds.
The Mbale based club also completed a season double over Proline having won the first round encounter 3-1 at Lugogo.
Kataka came into the encounter while third placed on the table with three points behind leaders Blacks Power who have played a game more.
Kyazze Bashir, skipper Francis Odongo and talisman Emmanuel Mukisa scored the three goals for Kataka.
Kyazze broke the deadlock in the 28th minute following a lose ball from a corner kick.
Odongo made it 2-0 in the 41st minute with a header from a well delivered corner kick.
Coming into the second half, Proline hoped to stage a comeback but it was Kataka who scored once again.
Mukisa made it 3-0 in the 78th minute with a cool following one of the Kataka FC routine long throw ins.
Godfrey Toldo commended his charges for the win over a good Proline side.
” I’m very happy because Proline isn’t an easy team but we managed to played well. They are good side but they were unlucky. We just used our chances and won.”
Kataka remained third but went to 24 points from 12 games.
Proline dropped to the relegation zone following Luweero United’s 1-0 win over Nyamityobora.
Proline will face Ndejje University on Sunday 6th March in their next game at Lugogo. Kataka will visit second placed Maroons at Luzira on the same day.
