Clinton Kamugisha scored a hat trick as Nyamityobora FC picked a hard fought 3-2 win over Kigezi HomeBoyz at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara.

Kamugisha was on target in the 36th, 45th and 79th minutes to inspire Nyamityobora back to the winning ways.

The Richard Makumbi coached side came into the encounter on the back of a crushing 4-0 defeat to Proline at Lugogo.

Kamugisha opened the scores in the 36th minute before Grant Matsiko equalized for Kigezi in the 41st minute through a penalty.

Kamugisha restored the lead at the stroke of halftime with a penalty but Rogers Tabule levelled the scoreline seven minutes into the second half.

The in-form forward completed his hat trick 11 minutes to normal time and ultimately won it for the home side.

Kamugisha is now the leading scorer of the FUFA Big League with 10 goals, two more than Tooro United’s Marvin Oshaba and Michael Siwu of Blacks Power.

Nyamityobora are temporarily second on the Rwenzori Group table with 21 points, four behind leaders Tooro United and one more than third placed Proline who have played a game less.

Kigezi HomeBoyz are stuck in the relegation zone, second from the bottom with 11 points accumulated from 12 games played.
