Kampala International Sports film festival officially launched

The 13th edition of the Kampala International Sports Film Festival has officially been launched on Wednesday 11th September at Tal Cottages Hotel, Kabusu.

This event is organised by Federation International Cinema Television Sportifs (FICTS) which is a non profit making body which collaborates with several sports media houses in Africa.

The two days event which will run until Thursday 12th September was founded by late legendary sports broadcaster Andrew Patrick Luwandagga ten years ago.

Dean Kibirige, the President of FICTS told the media that event will attract individuals from various countries around the globe

We are going to have a better event this year which has attracted participants from various countries. We have replaced a TV show with Sport and Disability.

The winners will walk away with certificates of merit and various awards.” Stated Kibirige.

25 entries have been accorded free public entry and will compete in seven categories which are, Documentary, Olympic Games, Sports and Disability, Movies, Sports Advert, Sport and Society, TV and Weblog.

Italy (Two)
Austria (One)
South Africa ( One)
Spain ( Two)
Russia ( Three)
Germany (Two)
China (One)
Panama ( One)
Brazil (One)

The most outstanding person or institution that has contributed towards the development of sport locally and internationally will scoop the mentorship award
