Belgian giants Anderlecht SC have officially announced the signing of Uganda Hippos and Police FC striker Derrick Kakooza.
Kakooza has put pen on paper on a five year employment contract with the Belgian side.
The youngster’s astonishing performances at the AFCON U-20 tournament in Mauritania caught the attention of Vincent Kompany coached side.
At the U20 continental showpiece, Kakooza finished as the top scorer with five gaols in the six games he played including an emphatic hat trick against Tunisia in the semifinals.
The former St.Mary’s Kitende student kick started his career at Naguru Police Academy before he joined Police FC Junior Team (The Armless Brigades). He graduated to Police FC senior team last season.
Anderlecht who are under the stewardship of former Manchester City captain Kompany are 34 time Belgian champions. Last season, they finished fourth securing a place in the inaugural Europa Conference League
