Maroons FC are among a few teams yet to win a football match or even score a goal in the 2017/18 season, the others being BUL, Express and Proline FC.

They have only managed to collect 2 points out of the possible 9 and they are yet to score a goal.

This is a condition that would call for concern but head coach Asaph Mwebaze insists that there is still time to make amends and perhaps get the team back on track. He says,

” We have played against a strong team which is considered among the favourites to win the league. We could not just open up and attack them without caution and I am proud of the point we have earned off them. “

He added,

” We have had a tough opening fixture which includes KCCA, Onduparaka and now URA, we are glad for the points we have so far and expect to get better with time”.

On his team’s lack of goals, Mwebaze explained,

“We have had a number of debutants this term and the team chemistry is still bonding, we expect to get better with time, we need to get ruthless and sharper in front of goal. Good enough we do not concede a lot like today our keeper has not received any direct shots from the URA forwards.”

Maroons will play against Express FC in their next fixture on 30th, September at Muteesa II Wankulukuku.
