Soana FC have appointed Ssingo head coach Shafiq Bisaso on a two year contract to guide them in the 2017/18 season. Bisaso replaces Alex Isabirye who joined newly promoted Azam Premier league Entebbe based side Masavu FC.

An buoyant  Shafiq Bisaso told this website that,

“I am exceedingly delighted that I have been offered a route to return to Azam Premier league since my dismissal at SC Villa on February 23rd this year, I had no second thoughts when SOANA FC approached me, not very many opportunities of this calibre easily fall through and I hope their faith in me will be repaid.”

On the task ahead of him Bisaso says,

” Of course it’s a massive task but am ready for it since my new employees have put their trust in me, all in all am ready to prove my self at this great club, I have enough experience with managing in the league and I know the group of players here are good enough to steer this team to greater heights “.

On the players signed before his appointment,

“I will first have to sit down with my technical team, make an assessment every player new and old because as of now we have not yet conducted any training sessions to see the ones to use and the possible additions but I believe, with team work and come operation, we shall achieve our objectives. He concluded.

Shafiq Bisaso left SC Villa under controversial circumstances in the middle of the 2016/17 season, at a period when the team was seriously challenging for the league title, he left them in second place after a string of draws forced the Villa hierarchy to pull the trigger on him. He was later picked up by Ssingo FC in the Masaza cup whom he led to qualification into the quarter final stages.

He has also been instrumental in Masaza cup guiding both Gomba and Ssingo to Masaza cup triumphs that is in 2014 and 15 respectively.
