KCCA crashed out of the CAF confederations cup after a 4-0 defeat to Tunisia giants Club Africain in their final group game in Tunis.

The exit was a had one to take by the club’s faithfuls but goal keeper and senior squad member Benjamin Ochan has an other perspective. He says,

“This was our first experience on the continent as a group yet our compatriots Club Africain and FUS Rabat had previously played on the continental level over the years.”

“We put up a fight and i believe we shall build on this experience coming into next season while on the continent.”

On his highlight of the season, Ochan looks no further than the away fixture against Al Masry in Egypt, where KCCA ejected the home team to qualify for the Confederation Cup group stages. He explains ,

“The preliminary game against Al Masry in Egypt was my highest point, I saved two penalties in the shoot out to see us advance to the group stages of the Caf Confederations cup.”

Like most in the KCCA circles, Ochan insists last season was a big success,

“We managed to win the first ever domestic double in the club history and also put up massive performances on the continent , that’s not an easy feat to achieve, though we failed short on achieving our prime target of making it to the last eight of the Caf Confederations cup, we at least have something to look back and smile on.”

Though most of the clubs have been on holiday, KCCA will not have the luxury to enjoy a long holiday and Ochan has already set his sights on the upcoming season.

“In the new season i want to help my club reach the CAF Champions league knockout phase and also be part of the national side in the Africa Nations Championships in Kenya,”

concluded Ochan.
