The Israeli Premier League resumed on Monday night with only two round 3 games played.

Uganda Cranes defender Timothy Awany played full-time for Ashdod SC and kept a second consecutive clean sheet of the season.

However Awany’s compatriot and former Vipers striker Fahad Bayo Aziz was an unused substitute as the Ashdod side registered the slim victory courtesy of Nenad Cvetkovic’s early goal.

William Kizito Luwagga came off the bench and posted a man of match performance for Hapoel Kfar Saba. He was involved in the first goal, then won a penalty before providing an assist for striker Or Dasa who scored Hapoel Kfar Saba’s third goal on the evening in the stoppage time.

Luwagga replaced Frenchman Amadou Soukouna in the 56th minute when Kfar Saba were still trailing 1-0.

Victories leave both Hapoel Kfar Saba and Ashdod SC on six points each in the third and fourth place respectively.

Both teams will return to action Saturday 3rd October with Ashdod SC visiting Bnei Yehuda in Tel Aviv.

Luwagga and his Kfar Saba teammates will also be on the road against Maccabi Netanya on the same day.

Elsewhere, other Ugandan players who were in action on Monday evening included Alexis Bbakka and Derrick Nsibambi.

Bbakka played 54 minutes before he was replaced by Timothy McNeil as Umea FC lost 6-0 to Degerfors IF in the Swedish second tier.

Derrick Nsibambi also featured for 62 minutes in Smouha’s 2-0 win over Al Masry in the Egyptian Premier League. He was replaced by Mohamed Nadi.

In Denmark, midfielder Robert Kakeeto was an unused substitute as Aalborg BK beat AC Horsens 1-0 in the Superligaen.
