William Kizito Luwagga was the difference as Hapoel Kfar Saba defeated Maccabi Netanya 1-0 in the final game of the Relegation round of the Israeli Premier League on Thursday night.
The Uganda Cranes winger scored the lone goal of the game played at the Netanya Stadium in the 38th minute.
Kizito Luwagga’s winning goal was his second of the season for Hapoel Kfar Saba, a side he joined early this year after a brief stint in Kazakhstan.
His first goal came a week ago as Hapoel Kfar Saba edged Timothy Awany’s Ashdod SC 3-2.
Awany was also in action on Thursday night and played full-time as Ashdod SC registered a convincing 3-1 victory over Hapoel Hadera.
Thursday’s results imply Hapoel Kfar Saba ended the season in 11th place with 38 points from 33 games while Ashdod SC finished 8h with 41 points.
Hapoel Ra’anana and Sektzia Nes Ziona have been relegated to the second tier while the league will officially conclude on Tuesday 7th July.
