ISRAEL: Luwagga scores in 3-2 win over Awany’s Ashdod

Ashdod SC 2-3 Hapoel Kfar Saba

Ugandan offensive midfielder William Kizito Luwagga scored his first league goal for Hapoel Kfar Saba in their 3-2 win over Ashdod SC in the Israeli Premier League on Wednesday night.

While Luwagga scored Hapoel Kfar Saba’s third goal of the evening, his compatriot Timothy Denis Awany played full-time for the losing Ashdod side.

Aviv Solomon gave Kfar Saba the lead in the 5th minute but Montari Kamaheni temporarily drew the game at 1-1 seven minutes later.

Omer Fadida restored Kfar Saba’s lead in the 23 minute before Luwagga made it 3-1 seven minutes into the second half.

The Uganda Cranes crafty midfielder was booked in the 65th minute.

Shlomy Yosef Azulay reduced the deficit for the home side in the 72nd but couldn’t salvage at least a point from the encounter.

The victory sent Kfar Saba to 35 points level with Ashdod and six above the relegation zone with only two games left.

Ashdod will visit Maccabi Netanya in their next game on Sunday 28th June while Hapoel Kfar Saba will host Sekzia Ness Ziona on the same day.

Statistically, Luwagga has played a total of eight league games for the Kfar Saba outfit scoring one goal and registering one assist.

Awany has played a total of 30 games, scoring one goal, getting booked twice and red carded once.
