Hapoel Kfar Saba 3-2 Maccabi Haifa
William Kizito Luwagga scored a second-half brace as his side Hapoel Kfar Saba stunned Maccabi Haifa 3-2 in the Israeli Premier League action on Tuesday night.
Luwagga scored his first goal in the 48th minute after being set up by second-half substitute Michael Omoh. His goal served as a leveler for his side who were trailing at half-time.
He then completed his brace in the 70th minute when he sent the goalkeeper the wrong way from the penalty mark after he was fouled by Bogdan Planic in the 70th minute.
Before the halftime break, Luwagga fouled Neta Lavi in the box and a penalty was awarded to Maccabi Haifa but his goalkeeper Matan Zalmanovich saved it in the 38th minute.
Nikita Rukavytsya who missed the penalty and Arad Ofri who also scored an own goal, scored the two goals for the losing side.
Luwagga was withdrawn inside the added nine minutes and was replaced by Frenchman Amadou Soukouna.
It should be noted that the Uganda Cranes forward was an unused substitute as Hapoel Kfar Saba lost 1-0 to Bnei Sakhnin in the previous game over the weekend.
His brace took his tally to three goals this season having scored his first goal in the 2-1 win over Hapoel Tel Aviv in August.
Hapoel Kfar Saba are now 6th on the table with 10 points, level with Maccabi Haifa who have a superior goal difference.
Ashdod SC, home to Timothy Awany and Fahad Bayo, lie 8th with 9 points but will be in action on Wednesday night against Maccabi Netanya.
