Uganda tactician Alex Isabirye was recently appointed as the head coach for Somalian side Horseed FC after signing an employment contract of one year.
Having managed a series of clubs at home, the former URA tactician has embraced a fresh challenge away from home to coach in the war stricken horn of Africa country.
“I have not been with the players for so long but I have embarked on changing their mindset.”
“I know it is not going to be a walk over as I am yet to know how other clubs are playing but I believe I have the capacity of helping my side compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.”
At Horseed he has handled two games winning 4-2 and 1-0 against Horseed and Jeenyo respectively in the General Daud Cup 2020.
They will be back in action on Wednesday 14th October-2020 against Elman SC.
Horseed will represent Somalia in the 2020/21 CAF Confederation Cup after winning the 2019 domestic cup.
The former Kyetume FC tactician has previously worked with URA FC, Nyamityobora Football Club, BUL FC, Kirinya Jinja SS (now Busoga United), Soana FC (now Tooro United and defunct SC Victoria University.
He is also remembered for guiding Buganda province to the innagural FUFA Drum tournament Championship in 2018.
Robert Mayanja, currently at Elman SC is another Uganda coach in the Somalia top-flight league.
