Kizza Mustafa expects to have a break through season
KCCA academy graduate Kizza Mustafa “Marcelo” reveals his plans ahead of the 2017/18 season. The flamboyant left full back is determined to fight for a starting berth at the Lugogo based side ahead of the new season. He says,
“I am working hard to be considered on the KCCA Fc starting eleven and with the confidence i have gained from these pre season matches. The preseason has also helped me on sharpening my personal abilities and now i can see that i have chances of being named in the starting team.”
“My lack of playing time last season was not due to the presence of senior players Joseph Ochaya and Isaac Muleme.
Their presence helped me learn more from them and am still learning a lot from Muleme so i have to work hard.”
He highlights on how coach Mike Mutebi has helped influence and shape his football career,
“Coach Mike Mutebi has helped me so much, he trusts me and the good thing he knows my abilities and gives me a chance to exploit my talent. His trust in me will push me work hard to avoid disappointing him since he has always been there for me.”
Kizza believes that KCCA Fc is still a strong side to defend the domestic double despite losing key players,
“We are still a strong team with a lot of experience in Muzamir Mutyaba, Derrick Nsibambi and Benjamin Ochan and the new recruits are quality players.”
Players like Geoffrey Sserunkuma, Ivan Ntege, Robert Ssentongo, Tom Masiko and Vincent Kayizzi left the club, it’s true we shall miss them but i strongly believe we can defend the domestic double,” he concluded.
Kizza last season played 9 games for KCCA Fc in all competitions during the second round.
During his loan move at Maroons he played every game for the club during the first round of 2016/17 season.
Kizza will however face stiff competition from Isaac Muleme during the forthcoming Azam premier league season at KCCA Fc.
