Hon. Bakkabulindi flags off team Uganda for All Africa Games

State Minister for Sports Charles Bakkabulindi on Thursday evening flagged off team Uganda at National Council of Sports headquarters for All Africa Games.

General Secretary National Council of Sports Dr.Bernard Ogwel and his assistant David Katende, Donald Rukare the President Uganda Swimming Federation among other dignitaries attended the flag off ceremony.

The 12th edition of the event will take place from 19th to 31st August in Rabat, Morocco.

A contingent of 170 will depart for Morocco, these include 77 Athletes from 13 Sports disciplines,19 coaches and officials.

Athletics will be represented by 25 Athletes, Boxing 8, Swimming 2, Table Tennis 4, Badminton 6, Beach Volleyball 4, Basketball 4, Chess 2, Cycling 2, Handball 14, Taekwondo 2 and Weightlifting 4

The first batch will travel in the wee hours of Friday, second group on Saturday and the final set will depart for Morocco on 22nd August.

Bakkabulindi expects Uganda’s representatives to shine

“We expect to achieve success in Morocco because we have the talent to compete with the rest of Africa.

We are delighted as the government to see young boys and girls take part in Sports activities.”

The government has tried and will continue to give support to all sports disciplines.”

Each Athlete received $1000 dollars and other competition equipments from National Council for Sports.
