Hillary Jomi saves late Kagimu penalty as Nyamityobora frustrate URA

Shafik Kagimu failed to convert an 85th minute penalty as URA played to a goalless stalemate with new comers Nyamityobora at Namboole.

With the game destined for a barren draw, Kagimu took matters by his hands in pursuit for a winner before he was brought down by Ibrahim Pengere in the box.

The URA skipper stepped up in 12 yards only to see his penalty comfortably saved by the Nyamityobora custodian Hillary Jomi.

Ironically, Jomi was lucky not to be sent off by referee Alex Muhabi 3 minutes earlier when he intentionally hit Robert Mukongotya in an off ball incident.

Kagimu

With 15 minutes to normal time, Vitalis Tabu was also withdrawn for Mukongotya in a bid to find the elusive goal but in vain.

Nyamityobora who were limited to selection due to license clearance issues, brought on Ivan Mboowa and Charles Sebutinde for Lameck Ebong and Patrick Gonahasa respectively.

Ronald Musana was the only cautioned player on the day following a foul on Joseph Akandwanaho 5 minutes into the second period.

The result leaves the tax collectors 5th on the log with 10 points from 6 games. Nyamityobora moves a place to the 14th position on 4 points.

Sam Ssimbwa’s charges will return to league action on Tuesday November 6th against BUL FC at Njeru whereas Nyamityobora will play hosts to Kirinya JSS on the same date.
