High-flying Sekajugo named FUFA Drum MVP

Buganda Province’s attacker Viane Sekajugo was voted Most Valuable Player of the concluded inaugural FUFA Drum tournament.

The Onduparaka FC diminutive winger scored two vital goals in Buganda’s rise to the triumph against West Nile.

Sekajugo was deservedly voted Man of the Match on four different occasions, more than any other player in the tournament.

In a post match interview, Sekajugo lauded his teammates and the technical bench and attributed them for the success.

” I thank my teammates and the technical team. I might have scored today but it was a collective effort from the whole team.”

He also spared a thought for the significance of the tournament,

” The FUFA Drum is a good idea in that it helps players from the lower league rub shoulders with topflight players. It boasts their confidence in return.”

Besides Sekajugo, Bugisu’s James Alitho was another winner on the evening as he walked away with 1M after emerging the tournament’s top scorer with 8 goals.

The overall winners Buganda bagged 30M while runners up West Nile walked away with 15M.
