Goals from Sudanese international younster Makweth Wol and Ivan Eyam saw Mbarara City 2-0 secure a third straight win over Maroons this season alone.
Makweth Wol put the Ankole Lions in the lead as early as the 8th minute after a successful dribble past three defenders led by captain Allan Anguyo to beat Ashadu Bugembe.
Maroons did not give up and they sent unrelenting attacks through Samson Mutyaba , Brian Majjwega, Isaac Otto and Solomon which gave Ali Kimera a busy day but he stood tall between the posts to save his side.
Ivan Eyam sealed it off in the last three added minutes through an easy tap in past Ashadu Bugembe to grant Mbabazi’s men a deserved win.
Subsitute Derrick Onyai was the only player to be cautioned in the game by referee Robert Donney.
Goalkeeper Ali Kimera of Mbarara City was named Pilsner man of the match.
Both teams remain in their respective positions Maroons FC 12th with 15 points and Mbarara City 3rd with 32 points 8 points behind table leaders KCCA FC.
The two will be back in action on Friday 8th Febuaty as Mbarara City will face off with relagation candidates Nyamityobora FC in the Mbarara derby while Maroons will play the tax collectors at Namboole.
