Henry Kiwanuka renews stay at Soltilo Bright Stars

Attacking midfielder Henry Kiwanuka has extended his stay at Uganda Premier League side Soltilo Bright Stars.

Kiwanuka put pen to paper on a two year employment contract that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

He joined the Mwererwe based side at the start of the 2018/19 season from Masavu Football Club. In the same season, Kiwanuka helped Bright Stars finish as Uganda Cup runners ups after suffering a shootout defeat to eventual winners Proline FC.

Kiwanuka joins defender Derrick Ngoobi and right wing back Andrew Kaggwa who also renewed their contracts at the club. Bright Stars also secured Joseph Janjali’s signature from Vipers on a permanent basis after impressing during his loan spell last season.

Midfielder Jamil Kisitu Nvule, custodian Benson Wagima, forward Samuel Ssekamatte, defender Ibrahim Kibumba and Hippos forward Saddam Masereka are the major signings that joined the club during the just concluded season.

Baker Mboowa will serve as the club’s head coach while Simon Peter Mugerwa will be his immediate assistant.

Bright Stars also changed their name to Soltilo Bright Stars, finished 12th last season with 29 points garnered from 25 games played.
