Godfrey Walusimbi and Kaizer Chiefs part ways on mutual consent

South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs have parted ways with Ugandan left back Godfrey Walusimbi “Jajja Walu” on mutual agreement.

Walusimbi leaves the Premier Soccer League club after only five months following his controversial transfer from Kenyan champions Gor Mahia on a 3 year contract

Kaizer Chiefs announced the development on their official social media platforms

” Kaizer Chiefs have parted ways with left-back Godfrey Walusimbi. The player has opted to go back home to Uganda. We would like to thank Godfrey for his contribution to Kaizer Chiefs and wish him all the best.”

Reads a statement on the club’s twitter handle

Walusimbi has had insufficient playing under the new Amakhosi German coach Ernst Middendorp at the expense of fans’ favourite Siphosake Ntiyantiya and Happy Mashine.

It is however understood that Kaizer Chiefs have released Walusimbi to free space for one more foreign player to the registered.

Nigerian goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi who has been signed on a one and half year contract from Chippa United subsequently takes up his place.

The Uganda Cranes defender leaves South Africa after making a total of 10 Premier Soccer League appearances.
