Uganda Cranes striker Geoffrey Serunkuma scored the lone goal for his side Buildcon FC as they succumbed to a 2-1 home defeat against Zanaco at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Round 37 of the FAZ/MTN Super League.

Zanaco had taken an early through Ziyo Tembo in the 13th minute before Christopher Munthali scored in his own net five minutes later to double the scoreline.

Serunkuma then pulled one back to reduce the deficit for the home side in the 28th minute volleying home a Clifford Miheso’s cross – netting his 6th league goal since moving to Zambia in July.

Munthali’s own goal in the 18th minute makes it the second Buildcon defenders have scored in the last three games, the other coming from Isaac Isinde last week against Green Buffaloes.

Buildcon lies 9th on the 20-team log with 52 points and will play against Lumwana Radiants in the last game of the season on 9th December.

Elsewhere, Joseph Ochaya’s Lusaka Dynamos missed out on the CAF Confederation Cup slot after losing to Kabwe Warriors at home yesterday with the result going in favour of Nkana. They will play against NAPSA Stars in their last fixture.
