Uganda premier league top scorer and KCCA striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma has joined Zambian outfit Buildcon FC on a deal in the region of 2 years. He joins fellow Ugandan international Isaac Isinde who joined earlier this year.
The striker will fly to Zambia on Thursday next week to complete the final touches on the deal including a medical. A delighted Sserunkuma told Swift sports that,
” I am delighted to be joining Buildcon FC and thank God for this amazing opportunity, I am looking forward to this new challenge and a new chapter in my career. “
Sserunkuma scored 33 goals last season for KCCA FC in all competitions helping them complete a double winning the league and The Uganda FA Cup. He has played for Police FC, Bloemfontein Celtics and Vasco da Gama in South Africa and KCCA FC on two occasions.
Sserunkuma had a stellar year with KCCA FC after winning the golden boot and he was awarded with the MVP and fans favourite gongs.
Buildcon FC are a Zambian premier league outfit owned by Moses Mubanga of Buildcon Investments. They joined the league after the acquisition of A. M Welding FC and they were called so until the start of July. They play in the MTN/FAZ Super Division are well known for having an African multi national squad predominantly of Congolese and now 2 Ugandans.
They host their games at Levy Mwanawasa stadium and they are coached by Spanish born Moroccan Hicham Jadrane. Buildcon currently lie 9th on the 20 team log with 22 points led by NAPSA stars at 34 points.
