Geoffrey Sserunkuma named Cranes captain ahead of 2018 CHAN Qualifiers

The national team head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has named KCCA FC talisman Geoffrey Sserunkuma as the skipper for the national team to prepare for the 2018 Total Africa Nations Championship qualifiers.

He will be assisted by Vipers captain Nicholas Wakiro Wadada and Sc Villa’s Bernard Muwanga.

“It is a honour for me to be considered to lead the national team in the African Nations Championships.” Sserunkuma said.

“This has been a great year in my career but all this success belongs to the Almighty,” added the goal poacher.

The veteran striker solitary goal inspired the the national side to a 1-0 win over Cape Verde in the 2019 African Cup of nations qualifiers away.

Sserunkuma has also been a key figure for his club scoring 32 goals in all competitions for KCCA FC last season.

Cranes tactician Micho Sredejovic has also named a 25 man squad to resume training today at Mandela National stadium for CHAN qualifier game against South  Sudan on 14th of July in Juba,the return leg set for 22nd of July 2017 in Kampala.
