FWSL: She Corporates edge Olila to set off with a winning start

She Corporate FC were 1-0 winners over Olila High School in a Group 2 encounter of the FUFA Women Super League played at Njeru.

Noeline Namiiro scored the all important goal at the stroke of half-time to ensure She Corporates earn a winning start.

Namiiro brilliantly scored a free kick from about 30 yards past Olila’s youthful goalkeeper Eglas Ajumo who was off her line in the 42nd minute.

Save for the decisive goal, the game was evenly contested with Olila dominating proceedings during the second half.

Olila new signing Grace Aluka acquired from Kawempe Muslim, made her debut and nearly scored in the 30th minute but her long range effort was parried away for a corner kick by She Corporate skipper Vanessa Karungi who had moved away from her line.

Defender Margaret Namirimu was also handed a debut for She Corporate and started in central defense alongside Bridget Nabisaalu.

Karungi and her defense flawlessly defended their lead to register a slim victory. They were unfortunate to lose their right back Wilmer Nantumbwe who was stretchered off due to injury before she was replaced by Cissy Nantongo in the final 20 minutes.

She Corporate are second on the table with three points while Lady Doves lead courtesy of a superior goal difference. Lady Doves thumped Isra Soccer Academy 5-0 in the group opener.

She Corporate will face UCU Lady Cardinals in their next game on Tuesday while Olila face Lady Doves in the noon kick off on the same day.
