Kawempe Muslim host their closest title rivals Lady Doves in a Fufa Women Super League game slated for Sunday at the school valley ground.

It is one game that can be dubbed as “A Clash of Titans” as one of the best female clubs in the country face off.

Kawempe currently lead the Super League table with 16 points after six games and a three points clear of Lady Doves who are sitting third behind second placed Uganda Martyrs.

The game comes at a time when Kawempe is the only unbeaten side in the league and shortly after Lady Doves lost 2-0 to Uganda Martyrs last week.

The Masindi based outfit have not lost to Kawempe in the previous two meetings both teams have faced, playing to a one-all draw and winning the most recent one 1-0 thanks to Winnie Babirye’s late goal.

In fact, Babirye’s lone goal implied that Lady Doves became the second team ever to beat Kawempe at the school valley ground. The other side was Asubo Gafford Ladies who did so on two occasions.

As Kawempe will be searching for their first ever win over Lady Doves, they will have to negotiate the enormous task without defender Stella Musibika and lead striker Juliet Nalukenge who are nursing respective injuries.

Anita Namata, Margret Kunihira, Sharon Nadunga, Shakira Nyinagahirwa and Shamira Nalugya are expected to inspire the school side in absence of Nalukenge.

It is Aisha Nantongo who will continue filling Musibika’s void in a defensive partnership with skipper Mariam Nakabugo.

Kawempe is the only side yet to concede any goal this season while Lady Doves have conceded three so far.

The Lady Doves will look up to Fazila Ikwaput (six goals), Norah Alupo, Kellen Mutuuzo, Elizabeth Nakigozi and Riticia Nabbosa if at all they are to secure a positive result against Kawempe.

A win for the Ayub Khalifa coached team will consolidate their stay on the Fufa Women Super League table with 19 points while Lady Doves will finish the first round on the same number points with the leaders should they secure maximum points.
