Lady Doves 2-1 UCU Lady Cardinals
Fazila Ikwaput scored two goals as Lady Doves fought from a goal down to beat rivals UCU Lady 2-1 in the Wednesday early kick of the FUFA Women Super League at Njeru.
Ikwaput took her personal tally to seven goals this campaign and boosted her chances of winning this season’s golden boot.

In an evenly contested encounter, UCU Lady Cardinals took an early lead through their captain Hasifa Nassuna who converted from the penalty mark following Rashida Nankya’s foul on Harriet Muwugumya in the box in the 20th minute.
The lead lasted for only 12 minutes as Ikwaput tied the encounter when she capitalized on a howler by UCU’s goalkeeper Ruth Aturo.
Ikwaput ran fastest to reach a long Adrine Birungi ball before Aturo could collect it and scored in an empty net.
The game was destined for a tie but Ikwaput rose to the occasion once again in the 75th minute when she won a penalty after being brought down by Shadia Nankya inside the box.
The 2017 female MVP took the matters by herself and flawlessly converted the resultant penalty past Aturo.
The Masindi outfit then held on to register their second win of the campaign which took them to the table summit on seven points.
UCU remain second with three tied with third placed She Corporates.
Lady Doves will play against She Corporates in their final game on Friday while UCU Lady will seek redemption when they face Isra Soccer Academy on the same day.
