FWEL: Wakiso Hill earn quarter final berth as Group stages climax

Wakiso Hill finished second on the Group D table with four points

Wakiso Hill qualified for the FUFA Women Elite League quarter finals after beating EHCOS (Eastern Hope College, Soroti) 3-0 in the final Group D game at Njeru. 

Coming into the final game, Wakiso Hill needed nothing but a win so as to finish ahead of rivals Lango Queens. 

Justine Birabwa, Slyvia Namiwanda and Faith Namuddu scored the three second half goals for the Wakiso based side. 

Birabwa broke the deadlock from a free kick five minutes into the second half, Namiwanda made it 2-0 in the 63rd minute before Namuddu put the icing on the cake six minutes to normal time.

Coached by Swaleh Kamya, Wakiso Hill finished second on the Group D table with four points, two more than third placed Lango Queens.

Lango Queens lost their final game 1-0 to She Maroons who topped the group with maximum points.

Winnie Kyomugisha scored the lone goal of the game in the 79th minute and took her tally to four goals this season.

She Maroons will play against Ajax Queens in the quarter finals whereas Wakiso Hill will face Amuria High School.
