Four time champions Kawempe Muslim stand a chance to clinch a play off berth this weekend as the FUFA Women Elite League resumes on Saturday following a three weeks break.
Kawempe Muslim will make a trip to Buddo to face Ajax Queens, a team that is in pursuit for their first ever play off appearance.
The holders are topping the Victoria group with 25 points after 9 league games while Ajax Queens are 4th with 13 points, 6 behind second placed Lady Doves FC.
Ajax Queens are destined for an uphill battle since they have never managed a win over the school side which has also not conceded a single goal in the last 8 games.
When the two sides met last season at Buddo, Kawempe won 2-0 and come into this encounter targeting another double over Ajax Queens having won 1-0 in the reverse fixture thanks to a late Anita Namata header.
Namata (5 goals), Tracy Jones Akiror (4 goals) and joint top scorer Juliet Nalukenge (9 goals) are expected to inspire the Ayub Khalifa coached side to a ninth consecutive victory.
A win for Kawempe can take them to 28 points and ensure they become the first team to book a place in this year’s playoffs.
Phiona Nabbumba and Lukia Namubiru should be on their utmost best if at all Ajax Queens are to keep their play off hopes alive.
Elsewhere in the Elizabeth pool, UCU Lady Cardinals and Isra Soccer Academy can temporarily top the group should any of the two sides clinch victory when they face off at Mukono.
UCU Lady Cardinals come into this game in the second place tied on 18 points with leaders Kampala Queens and third placed Olila High School WFC who play against each other on Sunday in Soroti.
Isra Soccer Academy are two points below the top three but a rare win can push them to 19 points.
UCU Lady Cardinals will look up to Hasifa Nassuna who is also a joint top scorer with 9 goals, Maureen Kinavudori and Catherine Nakiridde in search of a season double over Isra.
The visiting team will rely on in-form forward Fauzia Najjemba who has managed to register 8 league goals thus far.
Muteesa I Royal University will play host to Asubo-Gafford Ladies at IUIU, Kabojja campus playground.
The university side is 5th on the Victoria table with 12 points while Asubo-Gafford Ladies are tottering on the negative end of the log (second from bottom) with 7 points and risk relegation.
Third placed She Corporates welcome Rines SS WFC at MUBS Arena in Nakawa hoping to maintain a steady run for a play off berth.
The Nakawa outfit is 5 points below Lady Doves who play against fellow debutants Dynamic Jjeza SS on Sunday.
She Corporates threw away a 2-0 half-time lead to draw 2-2 with Rines when the two sides met in the first round at Wakisha grounds.
Kenyan born striker Millicent Mwanzi, Sarah Namulindwa and skipper Vanessa Karungi will be the key players for the home side.
