FWEL: Amuria High School got top of Group C after thrashing St. Peter’s 8-1

Amuria High School WFC thumped debutants St Peter’s Apoi Girls 8-1 to record the biggest win in the ongoing FUFA Women Elite League season at Njeru.

Grace Nasongo celebrated her birthday with a hat trick on her name while Emmanuel Akoel (brace), Rehemah Akurut, Pauline Anyakun and Rukia Aringo scored the other goals.

Dollica Aceng’s equalizer in the first half only turned out to be a mere consolation for St. Peter’s.

Skipper Akoel gave Amuria the lead in the 15th minute but captain Dollica Aceng levelled matters a minute to the half hour mark.

Akurut restored Amuria’s lead with a header from close range at the stroke of half time.

Akoel made it 4-1 with her fourth goal of the campaign before Nasongo stole the show with three goals. Anyakun and Aringo also grabbed one apiece

Amuria High School now lead the Group C table with six points having beaten Ajax Queens 3-2 in the opener.

They will face Vision WFC in their final group game on Sunday.

Ajax Queens will play against St. Peters SS in the other game on Sunday.
