FWEL: Akiror on target for Kawempe as Isra win and Gafford are held at home

Tracy Jones Akiror and Namata Anita impressed as Kawempe Muslim ladies humbled Rines SS 2-0 to earn their first maximum points of the fresh new FUFA Women Elite league.

The four time FUFA Women Elite league champions hit the back of the net in the 25th minute through Namata Anita who headed home a Tracy Akiror quality free kick.

The hosts defence failed to clear Aluka ball from a corner kick and Tracy Jones Akiror punished them with an easy tap in to double the visitors lead. At the break, the hosts were drowning while the visitors were in sailing momentum.

In the second period, the home side had a chance to find a consolation when they were awarded a penalty but Kawempe Muslim ladies custodian Juliet Adeke stood firm deny Kauthara from the spot.

By the end of proceedings, goals from Namata Anita and Tracy Jones Akiror were enough to inspire the reigning champions to the first win of the fresh new campaign.

In other results, Joan Nabirye struck a late equaliser for Asubo Ladies against Lady Doves to register their first point. Zeddy Lilian scored for Lady Doves.

Captain Fauziah Najjemba netted a brace while Shamira Nalujja found the other as Isra Soccer Academy dispatched Bugiri Town 3-1. Quinta Auma had given the visitors the lead earlier on in the game.

Uganda Martyrs Lubaga and Lango Queens settled for a 1-1 all draw, with Shadia Nankya scoring for the hosts while Irene Alum was on target for the visitors.
