Ajax Queens Bulenga enhanced chances of qualifying for the FUFA Women Elite League quarter final after beating Vision Women Football Club 1-0 at Njeru.

Margaret Nalubega scored the all important goal that inspired the Bulenga outfit to a hard fought win.

Coming into this encounter, Ajax Queens had lost their first Group C game 3-2 to Amuria High School and needed instant response with nothing but victory against Vision WFC.

Nalubega had her feeble shot deflected off defender Recho Acio and beat goalkeeper Irene Alum in the 8th minute of the game.

Annet Namwenge and Carol Nakyanzi came close to making it 2-0 but couldn’t find target.

Vision were reduced to 10 players in the 86th minute as Sharon Akullo was sent off for a second bookable offense.

Both Ajax Queens and Vision WFC are now tied on three points but the Kitgum side has a superior goal difference having thumped debutants St. Peter’s Apoi Girls 5-0 in their opener.

Ajax Queens will face St. Peter’s Apoi Girls in their final group game on Sunday. Vision will take on Amuria High School on the same day.
