FUTSAL: Yeak Kabowa, Park maintain trot with routine wins


Park and Yeak Kabowa intensified their title surge with routine wins over Nomad and Typhoon respectively.

Park opened the action laden evening at Mengo – Kisenyi with a comprehensive 5-2 victory against Nomad.

Joshua Aziku, Mulangira Shaffic, Francis Matunga and Kisenyi Mark (brace) ensured that Park take their season tally to 47 points, four behind log leaders Yeak Kabowa.

Yeak Kabowa earned a 2-1 win over Typhoon at 8:00pm. Shafik Avemah grabbed a brace for this season’s pacesetters while Enock Sebagala and Musaasizi John were both sent off for unsporting behavior.

Maawiya Abdallah scored the lone goal for Typhoon who are now eighth on the table with 31 points.

Crown earned a third place status after securing a 6-0 win over debutants Aidenal at 7:00pm. This was after Parakeets stumbled to a 2-2 draw with Mengo City.

Defending champions Dream also edged Equator 3-2 thanks to Segawa John Kintu and Kazibwe Swahib.

Parakeets are now fourth with 38 points while Dream come fifth with 35 after 21 games.

Bajim registered the biggest scoreline on the evening – an 8-2 over Kabowa United in the closing stages.

Titus Ssematimba scored five goals whereas Isaac Kiberu, Kaweesa Nicholas Timothy and Sunday Franco grabbed one a piece.

Yap Stars secured their third win of the season after edging fellow strugglers Elephants 5-4 in a bottom of the table affair.

The league will resume with match day 22 games slated for next week on Thursday, May 2nd.
