FUTSAL: Typhoon stand in Yeak Kabowa’s title surge

SINAN RAJUB SENOGA

The Futsal Super League returns with seven games to be played at the International Futsal Courts in Mengo – Kisenyi.

Yeak Kabowa will be aiming to extending their lead on the log summit when they face Typhoon at 8:00pm.

Typhoon have had mixed results this season managing nine wins, four draws and losing on seven occasions thus far to sit ninth on the table with 28 points.

They come into this week’s encounter after edging Crown 3-2 while Yeak Kabowa walloped Equator 12-5.

Surprisingly, the most recent fixtures between the two sides have all ended 8-3 in the favor of Yeak Kabowa, one in the league’s first round and the other in quarter finals of the Futsal Uganda Cup.

Enock Sebagala, top scorer with 30 goals and Avemah Shaffik (28 goals) are expected to inspire Yeak Kabowa to yet another victory.

Mato Roger, David Kiwanuka and Umar Sebuliba will be the men to look up to for the White walkers.

The other fixtures on the day will see second placed Park entertaining Nomad in the early kick off.

Inspired by Babu Idd (26 goals), Park seek to capitalize on any slips by Yeak Kabowa who have four more points.

Crown will hope to bounce back from last week’s defeat against Dream when they take on debutants Aidenal at 7:00pm.

Dream (fifth with 32 points) play against Equator while Parakeets seek revenge against Mengo City who comprehensively won the first leg encounter 3-0.

Kabowa United face Bajim whilst lowly placed sides Yap Stars and Elephants go toe to toe in the closing stages of the evening.

Elephants are second from bottom with 11 points while Yap Stars sit on the base of the table with only six points accumulated from 19 games.
