FUTSAL: Big Talent overpower Synergy to set final meeting with Park

Big Talent Soccer Academy beat Synergy 4-3 at Old Kampala Sports Arena to secure a place in the 2021 Futsal Super League final.

Faizal Wabyona netted a brace before Herbert Asiimwe and Akram Katende added the other goals as Big Talent came from two goals down to progress to the final in their first Futsal league season.

Travis Mutyaba, Kevin Kyeyune and Yasin Sabir scored Synergy’s three goals in the entertaining contest at Old Kampala Sports Arena.

Mutyaba fired Synergy into the lead from a calmly taken penalty.

Kyeyune made it 2-0 with a brilliant finish in the opening half of the mouthwatering game.

Big Talent’s Ronald Kaye was sent off for unsporting behavior.

Skipper Wabyoona pulled one back for Big Talent with a finisher’s tap.

At the stroke of the first period, Katende levelled matters from a well struck penalty.

Moments after the recess, Sabir restored Synergy’s lead with a sensational strike.

Wabyoona made it 3-3 with a left footed strike also completing his brace on the day.

Towards the closing stages of the game, Katende missed from the spot but his teammate Assimwe comfortably struck from the spot in the final minutes sending Big Talent to their maiden final.

Big Talent Soccer Academy will face Park who beat Mengo 1-0, courtesy of Iddi Babu’s only goal of the other semifinal.

Mengo will lock horns with Synergy to determine who finishes third and fourth respectively.
