Sebastian Desabre has been this afternoon announced as the man to take charge of the Uganda national team the Cranes for the next 3 years.
Desabre who only yesterday resigned from his job as head coach of Egyptian giants Ismaily SC, will be assisted by U20 coach Matia Lule with Fred Kajoba as the goal keeping coach.
In a mega deal, Desabre is expected to earn 720M UGX per month, though no straight pronouncement has been made regarding his salary by the federation.
Despite working with clubs for most of his coaching career, Desabre comes with huge experience on the continent having coached at ASEC Mimosas in Ivory Coast, Recreativo Libolo in Angola, Wydad Casablanca in Morocco and it’s from this that he derives confidence that he will prosper with the cranes. He said,
“I have worked for a long time in Africa and i know much of African football. I am ready to serve”.
“I am ready to serve the interests of football in Uganda. My good experience in Africa will be very vital” . He added.
Desabre’s immediate task is guiding the Cranes in the forthcoming CHAN championships that will commence on Jan 12th in Morocco. He is expected to begin working immediately.
