Soana JT are the defending Champions of the juniors league

The Fufa Junior League 2017/2018 fourth edition age cap has been uplifted to 18 years (U18) from (U17). The league will kick off on Saturday, 16 September 2017. For the previous 3 editions it has been played by players below age of 17 years.
The 2017/18 season also is divided into two groups namely the Treble and Hat Trick group.
KCCA FC SA, URA FC JT, Onduparaka FC JT, Police Armless Brigade, BUL JT, Kirinya Jinja SS JT, Maroons FC JT and UPDF FC JT
HAT TRICK GROUP
Soana FC SA, Express FC JT, SC Villa Jogoo JT
Bright Stars FC JT, Proline FC SA, Mbarara City FC JT, Mbarara, Masavu FC JT and Vipers JT
Some of the notable products of this league include the newly promoted SC Villa youngster Abdallah Salim, URA FC’s Steven Mpoza, Allan Okello (MVP 2015/16)
Muhammad Shaban, Frank Tumwesigye, Mutanda Bashir, Poloto Julius, among others.
Youth Football Development officer in FUFA Mutyaba Bashir highlighted on a few issues especially the lack of fans on the stadia. He said,
“Some games are going to be played as curtain raiser matches for senior teams in order to publicize the Junior Teams alongside the senior teams as well as marketing the league by using various platforms”
He further said;
“Most of games will be played on weekends because players are students school going students, so we expect them to be attending classes during weekdays”
He also added that penalties in form of fines will be inflicted on teams that fail to honour their fixtures.
“We have put in place strict regulations and the FUFA Executive has the overall authority on such matters”
