FUFA DRUM : Sentongo brace spurs Buganda as Tooro defeats Kampala


Veteran striker Robert Sentongo scored two goals as Buganda Province defeated Sebei Province 2-1 at the Kiprotich Stadium Kapchorwa.

Sentongo gave the defending champions an early lead after converting from the spot in the 13th minute before doubling the score with a second half tap in from a Dan Birikwalira corner kick.

With 10 minutes to play, Denis Cherotwo pulled one back for home side who are coached by Jessy Lukoki.

Kampala Province succumbed to their second defeat of the campaign after going 2-0 down to Tooro courtesy of goals from Ndejje University’s duo Steven Ategeka and Anwar Ntege.

Elsewhere at the Kigaya grounds in Hoima district, Acholi Province came from a goal down to edge Bunyoro Province 2-1 thanks to Vipers’ Tito Okello who scored a brace.

Mbarara City’s Brian Aheebwa had put Richard Makumbi’s Bunyoro in the lead before Okello happened.

At the UTC grounds in Lira, Timothy Awany, Denish Omendi and Moses Aliro were on target as Lango defeated Ankole 3-0 in another Group B game played on the day.
