Gladys ZAWEDDE

Inaugural winners Buganda lost 1-0 at the hands of Livingstone Mbabazi’s coached Ankole Province courtesy Seiri Aligumaho’s 70th minute strike.

It now becomes tight in group B with Lango, Buganda and Ankole tied on 6 points while Sebei has no point.

Last year’s finalists West Nile lost their second home game at Green Light Stadium Arua 2-0 with Vipers SC’s Tito Okello and URA’s Hudu Mulikyi scoring in the 44th and 58th minutes respectively.

In group D, Kigezi province lost their third game after falling to Teso province 2-0 with Solomon Okwalinga and Isaac Ogwang finding the back of the net.

Bunyoro came from behind through Peter Lomoro in the 58th minute cancelling out Ivan Pulkol’s 29th minute for Karamoja to share spoils in a one-all stalemate at Boma grounds games.

Edgar Bwogi and Isaac Kisujju scored for Bugisu and Bukedi respectively when both sides shared spoils at Boma grounds Butaleja.

Buganda Province head coach Alex Isabirye remains confident that his side will seal a place in the knock outs despite defeat.

” Losing to Ankole is not the end of it all and it can not be a threat to us, good enough we are playing them next I am very sure we shall also surprise them in their own backyard.”

“We are going back on the drawing board and see were we went wrong correct our mistakes and come back stronger and better.”
