The Federation of Uganda Football Associations has called off all the regional football leagues due to the upsurge in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some regional federations like the Northern, Western, Kampala and Eastern had already drafted fixtures that were bound to kick off late last month.
“Due to supervisory and logistical hiccups caused by the prevailing COVID 19 pandemic, FUFA has decided to cancel the regional leagues for 2020/21”
“Efforts will be diverted to an early and timely kick off of the 2021/22 regional league”
FUFA had earlier on suspended kick off of these leagues but this communication puts paid to the remaining slim chances of being played.
A communication however regarding promotion to the big league and relegating to the lower ranks is yet to be made.
