SINAN RAJUB SENOGA

The wait for the Fufa Big League fixtures of the second round finally came to an end after they were released on Saturday evening.

The second tier league will officially resume on Thursday 22nd February following a two month break.

There are two fixtures lined up on the opening day with seven others three days later.

The two include Water FC hosting New Villa at Luzira Prisons grounds and Katwe United taking on Kataka at Lugogo.

The fixtures released have no venues allocated as homegrounds for four teams. That is Nyamityobora, Kansai Plascon, Saviours FC and Bukedea Town Council while New Villa will host their games at St. Paul’s Seminary in Fort Portal.

Noteworthy, debutants MYDA (Malaba Youth Development Association) top the Elgon Group with 16 points from eight games.

Ndejje University top the Rwenzori pool with 18 points, two better than Kitara FC and Kigezi Homeboyz. In fact, the three teams are the only ones yet to taste any defeat this season.

While Katwe are bottom placed in the Elgon Group with five points, Dove FC are the only team yet to register any win. They sit bottom of the Rwenzori table with only three points.

The regular season will climax on the 30th of April where the top placed teams from either groups will earn automatic qualification to the top flight.

The other best two placed from both groups will vie for the other one promotion slot.
