Godfrey Walusimbi “Jjaja Walu” could become the second Ugandan player to ply trade at Sudan’s El Hilal El Obeid Sports Club.
The Uganda Cranes left back is reportedly in advanced talks with the Sudanese side over a possible transfer.
Walusimbi is currently a free agent since January 31st when he mutually parted ways with South African side Kaizer Chiefs 5 months into his initial three year contract.
The former SC Villa player is destined for a reunion with Scottish tactician Frank Nuttall who was his coach at Gor Mahia between 2014 – 2016.
Should the deal materialise, Walusimbi will become the second Ugandan player to play for El Hilal El Obeid Sports Club after Diego Hamis Kiiza who turned out for the club in 2017.
Walusimbi has previously played for SC Villa and Bunamwaya in Uganda, CS Don Bosco in D.R. Congo and Gor Mahia from where he shifted to South Africa. He is also capped 90 times in the Uganda national team colours.
