Vipers sensational youngster Frank Tumwesigye ‘Zaga’ was summoned by Cranes interim coaches Moses Basena and Fred Kajoba in the 25 man Cranes squad to prepare for the CHAN qualifier game with Rwanda slated for 12th at St. Marys stadium and 18th at Nyamirambo.

The midfielder who has also been a regular in the under age structures of the national team is looking forward to impress the coaches, Swift Sports managed to get to him and have an insight into how he has prepared himself for another milestone in his career. Zaga says,

“I am very excited that i received my first ever national team call up, it is a great pleasure to me to be considered to serve my country. I am working hard to make the 18 man squad and maybe this will help me make my debut in the national colours.”

However, Tumwesigye still has a huddle ahead of making it through to the final 18 squad who will feature in the game proper, and he is aware of it,

“If i don’t make the 18 this time then i will continue fighting hard so as to be summoned again. I still have a lot of time ahead of me, I hope this will be the first time of the many to follow and I don’t see any reason to worry about if i don’t make it this time.”

The 17 year old played 3 league games against Bright stars, URA and KCCA FC for Vipers SC last season. His best display coming in the game against 12 league champions KCCA FC at Startimes stadium.
