Four Ugandan based players named in South Sudan’s squad to face Jordan

South Sudan will be taking part in the FIFA Arab League for the first time ever.

Four Uganda Premier League players have been named in South Sudan’s squad that will face Jordan in the FIFA Arab League on Monday 21st June in Doha, Qatar.

The four include Vipers SC duo of Rashid Toha and right back Joseph Dhata.

The other two are Onduparaka’s midfielder Gibson Wande Adinho and Mbarara City lanky striker Makweth Wol.

Ugandan born forward Tito Okello who now features for Gor Mahia missed out on the final squad due to illness.

In Tito Okello’s absence, Makweth will be the team’s reliable source for goals having played part in the concluded Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

Busoga United’s Ivan Wani has also been part of the preliminary squad that has been training at the Buluk training facility but didn’t make the final traveling squad.

South Sudan will be taking part in the FIFA Arab League for the first time ever and will automatically qualify for the stages if they beat Jordan in the qualifying stage.

If they qualify, the Bright Stars will be in Group C alongside Morocco, Saudi Arabia and the winner from the Palestine and Comoros qualifying match.
