Former SC Villa head coach and Spanish tactician Jose Antonio Flores has been fired by South African second tier side Super Eagles FC following a string of poor performances.
Flores who was appointed head coach of Super Eagles in November last year, has been shown exit together with his assistant Tshegofatso Mashego as the club continues to desperately look for results to beat the drop.
In an official confirmation, the National First Division club communicated;
“Super Eagles have amicably parted ways with Head Coach Antonio Jesus Flores and Assistant Coach Mashego Tshegofatso after a string of poor results.
A new coach will be announced in due course”
The announcement came on the aftermath of Super Eagles’ 3-0 loss to Black Leopards last sunday leaving the club’s status in jeopardy after going 7 games winless.
Flores had brought in as a saviour towards the end of the first round but he has had results hard to come his way registering only 3 victories and 4 draws, losing 6 to leave the club in the 14th position with 23 points, 2 above the red zone.
Antonio Flores was SC Villa’s coach between July – November 2015 managing only 7 league games for the 16-time champions.
He has also previously worked with UD Almeria, CD Roquetas and AD Polideportivo Aguadulce in Spain, Sarl Start Foot Algerie in Algeria, Sandawana FC and Lioli FC in Lesotho.
