Former Cricket Cranes head coach Tikolo lands Tanzania job

Former Cricket Cranes Stephen Ogonji Tikolo has been appointed as Tanzania National Cricket team head coach.

In January this year, Tikolo chosen not to renew his contract with the Uganda Cricket Association ending his three and half years tenure.

During his time with the Uganda Cricket Cranes, he won the ICC World Cricket League Division 4 tournament in Malaysia in 2018 and left the team on top of the Cricket World Cup Challenge League B after the success in December last year in Oman.

The former Kenyan Cricket National team captain and a former ODI captain has also previously served as battling coach of the Ugandan national team, Kenyan national under 19 Cricket team head coach and as interim head Coach of the Kenyan senior Cricket team.

During his time as a Cricketer, Tikolo was a right-handed middle order batsman and part-time right-arm medium pace and off-spin bowler. He is widely regarded as the greatest Kenyan Cricketer ever.
