Former Uganda Cranes and Express FC captain Ibrahim Dafala has passed on today afternoon at his home in Katabi, Entebbe after a long illness.
Burial arrangements are yet to be revealed for the legendary defender.
Dafala played for only Express FC during his 18 year career.
The former Cranes defender became the first Ugandan to play at both Manchester United and Cardiff City.
Dafala was part of the 1962 Uganda Cranes team that progressed to the Africa Cup of Nations that was staged in Ethiopia.
During the 1962 continental showpiece, Dafala did not feature in any of the Uganda Cranes games but played at the 1968 edition.
He retired from international football in 1970 after guiding Uganda to three consecutive CECAFA titles in 1968,1969 and 1970.
In 1975, Dafala officially retired from active football after leading Express FC to two league titles in 1974 and 1975.
