Five shown exit as KCCA FC clears dead wood

Uganda Premier league champions KCCA FC have reportedly released five players and these will be replaced by youngsters from the club’s junior team.

Swift Sports Uganda sources understand that head coach Mike Mutebi decided to offload the five players following their rancid performances in the just concluded season.

Defender Bernard Muwanga, striker Musa Esenu, custodian Jamil Maliyamungu, Muwadda Mawejje and have all been asked to try their luck somewhere else.

Muwanga, joined the Lugogo based side from bitter rivals SC Villa last year on a three year contract but has struggled for form in thw yellow and blue colours.

Kirabira who also signed from SC Villa on a three year contract in 2016, has been limited to three cameo appearances in the league and a few times been an used substitute, confirmed earlier this week that he was not to renew his contract. At KCCA he won two league titles and two Uganda Cup trophies.

Musa Esenu, a former Vipers SC, Soana ( now Tooro United) and Kirinya striker joined KCCA FC in August last year on a two year employment contract has also had limited playing time due to stiff competition from rejuvenated Mike Sulaiman Mutyaba and Patrick Henry Kaddu

Youngsters Sadat Anaku who has been brilliant for the KCCA FC junior spell will next season compete for a place in the senior team, Kato Samuel and Jurua Hassan are the other players to fill the voids for the departing players.

Custodian Hassan Matovu who was on loan from KCCA FC to Proline will replace Maliyamungu. Matovu guided Proline to the topflight division

The 13 league champions are also interested in signing Police FC right back Paul Willa and is expected to be the only addition in the side.
