After securing promotion to the Azam Uganda Premier league, Allan Kabonge’s Masavu will take on Asaph Mwebaze’s Maroons in the battle for the king of Big league at Phillip Omondi stadium Lugogo, Masavu were the champions of Rwenzori region whereas Maroons topped the Elgon section of the big league.
Allan Kabonge says that he side are out to show that they have been the best team in the big league, to him this game will also help them send a strong message to the teams in the Azam Premier league that Masavu is ready for the challenge.
He adds that his side will be more dangerous than his former club Onduparaka due to the commitment of his players,after the game on Sunday the Masavu coach will be moving to his next appointment that’s to manage Buwekula in masaza cup, however his future at the club is also uncertain.
Maroons coach Asaph believes his team will trust talented attacking midfielder Pius Obuya to make things happen for them in the game against Masavu,the play maker scored 7 goals in seven games he played at the club in their return to Uganda’s top flight league.
The Maroons tactician confirms that he will do all in his efforts to retain the core of the team that have been so phenomenal during their promotion among others the defensive lynch pin Richard Ayiko , Pius Obuya , top scorer Patrick Kaddu, Anguyo Allan, Jamil Maliyamungu among others
