UGANDA U17 WOMEN 2-0 ETHIOPIA U17 WOMEN

An early goal from skipper Juliet Nalukenge and a late header from second half substitute Catherine Nagadya helped Uganda U17 women’s team to take an early advantage over Ethiopia at Lugogo in Kampala.

Nalukenge needed only 5 minutes to head the home side into the lead off a Najjemba Fauzia brush header.

Both Nalukenge and Kunihira missed a couple of chances to double Uganda’s lead before halftime but their efforts went wide.

The Ethiopians nearly found an equaliser when Tuwork Wodajo Aragaw took a well curved free kick only to be denied by the woodwork.

Hadijah Nandago was replaced by Catherine Nagadya after she suffered an injury inside the second half.

In the 86th minute, Nagadya headed home a Fauzia Najjemba quality cross to double the hosts lead.

The return fixture of this game will be played in Addis Ababa – Ethiopia on 26th, January,2020.

The aggregate winner will face the winner between Tanzania and Burundi in the next qualifying round.
