The Uganda U17 women’s team head coach Ayub Khalifah has vowed to fight on to the last whistle when they face off with Ethiopia in the return match in Addis Ababa- Ethiopia.
The Ayub Khalifah’s coached team played to a game dominated by the visitors especially in the first half.
While addressing the media in the post match conference at Lugogo, Ayub noted that his team only came to learn about their opponents on the pitch but they still registered the win.
Going into the return leg, the team will be ready for whatever their opponents can do and they will simply step up their attitude and do the needful.
“The game was very had for us to be sincere but we shall fight on. The girls must know that they are not playing any weak team anymore time and step up their attitude, am sure we shall make it.” Said a confident Ayub.
Despite the visitors’ dominance, the Uganda U17 women’s team won the first leg of the FIFA women’s world cup qualifiers against Ethiopia at Lugogo in Kampala with a 2-0 margin.
The goals were scored by skipper Juliet Nalukenge and super substitute Catherine Nagadya.
The return fixture of this game will be played in Addis Ababa – Ethiopia on 26th, January, 2020.
The aggregate winner will face the winner between Tanzania and Burundi in the next qualifying round.
